Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Care: Why Choose Us?

Alliance Health Center offers structured treatment for children ages 12 to 17 who need extra support managing severe mental health concerns.

Families, caregivers and guardians from across the country turn to Alliance for adolescent inpatient psychiatric care. Our program helps young people develop healthier coping skills, gain a deeper understanding of their emotions and take steps toward lasting change. Patients stay in gender-specific areas, with boys on the Bridges unit and girls on the Reflection unit, allowing for more tailored care.

Highlights of our program include:

  • Age-appropriate psychiatric care: We shape treatment around your child’s life stage, experiences and daily rhythms, blending therapeutic work with familiar routines. Staff understand how to connect with adolescents and help them feel understood. We also offer guidance in ways that feel supportive.
  • Positive reinforcement and life skills: A points-based system rewards teens for following the rules. Rewards may include trips to local restaurants, movie theaters, football games or a water park. These outings, along with a nearby ropes challenge course, enable your child to learn skills like ordering from a menu, practicing respect and teamwork.
  • Schooling: Teens attend daily classes through an on-site school led by certified teachers. The program includes a variety of subjects, electives and activities like a field day or fun competitions. Get more information about educational services for adolescents.
  • Family involvement: Parents and guardians often take part in family therapy. These sessions help you understand what your teen is going through, learn new ways to communicate and strengthen your connection as a family. Staying involved also enables you to encourage and support your child once they return home.

Our Teen Mental Health Services

Whether it’s navigating an acute episode or addressing unhealthy patterns, we help young people through a variety of inpatient psychiatric programs. Our offerings include:

Acute inpatient psychiatric care

This short-term program helps teens experiencing a mental health crisis, like thoughts of self-harm or intense feelings of despair. We provide 24/7 support to help reduce symptoms so your child regains a sense of control. After an acute stay, your child may continue treatment in a longer-term (residential) program or through outpatient services.

Adolescent substance use disorder program (Foundations Recovery)

Care follows a 12-step model and includes individual therapy, group sessions and medication management. Because teens often turn to substances to manage emotional pain or peer pressure, treatment also helps them build healthier ways to respond and regulate their emotions. Juvenile Sex Offenders (JSO) (The Crossings)

We offer one of the few inpatient programs in Mississippi designed for adolescent males with a history of sexual offenses. This track helps young people take accountability, establish healthier behaviors and move toward a more stable and responsible future. Teens participate in group therapy and daily routines that encourage sound decision-making.
