Alliance Health Center offers inpatient psychiatric care for adolescents ages 12 to 17 who may have such problems as attention deficit, conduct disorder, oppositional defiance, depression, post-traumatic stress or behavioral problems. It is intended to break the cycle of teenage depression, anger and rebellion in a supportive environment.
This structured, short-term program features medication management and group, family and recreation therapy. Adolescent patients stay on gender-specific units; boys stay on the Bridges unit while girls stay on the Reflection unit. Referrals can be made by a parent, physician, hospital, school, youth court or community mental health center.
Our staff works with each adolescent and their school to maintain his or her studies during treatment. We also speak with the family or guardian on secure discharge planning which includes follow-up communication with referring professionals.
